Barbershop revisited

One of the most over-looked public spaces could be the barbershops of old. But, as beards come and go out of fashion, modern day designers have shed a new light at the barbershop design and interiors.

Recently I was intrigued by a very inspirational press release from Spanish lights producing company Vibia.

Their release celebrated one of their lighting designs “Wireflow” in a new setting – a barbershop. Check them out:

Metropolis hotel – project renderings

metropolis hotel, view from room entrance

metropolis hotel, view from room entrance

As far as hotel designs go, this one is by far most innovative I have seen recently. Not only it DOESN`T rely heavily on designer objects, but it also introduces a cocoon for toilet/shower in the middle of the room. It is by applying interesting decoration that this cocoon becomes a part of the overall design, and a means of distinguishing this project from many other seen previously.
