Aswoon studio at Ann Taylor

This is a picture of shop-window display at Ann Taylor’s store on Madison Avenue in New York, for which Susan Aswoon was commissioned to make backdrops, using her own design of “spring screen” – a hanging screen made of interconnected reclaimed springs taken from mattresses. Susan Aswoon`s studio is a great example of beautiful objects made from reclaimed materials and industrial excess materials.

At two of six window-displays Susan Aswoon used reclaimed used German ceilings, as you can see below.

I have been familiar with Susan`s work for a while, as I was writing about her work for the local design press a while ago. Check out her work and her site here.
