Auberge de L`ill

 Auberge de L`ill

Auberge de l`ill

This is the latest project of one of my favourite designers, Patrick Jouin. He did the interior design for a three-starred Michelin restaurant in the Mountain region of Alsace in France. The owner of the restaurant is a famous chef, Marc Haeberlin.

The main design feature is a dining hall with semi-transparent murano glass tubes floating around the seated guests. This resembles the floating baubles of Jouin`s famous Mix restaurant in Las Vegas, but the effect is much more serene and in keeping with the Alpine surroundings. The frosted-glass tubes bring to mind the icicles hanging from the mounting cliffs and roofs in the winter.

The restaurant and the Haeberlin family are apparently famous and you can read some interesting facts about them here.
